A super quick Simple Sunday post for today....it's recital day and I don't have much time :) Things here are busy, busy, BUSY!!!! We made this card at my last hostess club and I think it is a *perfect* addition to the Simple Sunday cards! The stamp is the Medallion background stamp. I have to admit when I saw this stamp in the catalog it really didn't do anything for me. I thought it was pretty but it was just "eh" BUT then I saw samples with this one....LOTS of gorgeous "I need to make them" samples and I knew I couldn't resist any longer. SO I caved....big shocker huh? I used my sponge dauber to color in the stamp with brilliant blue and tempting turquoise (I think the daubers give a more solid color than markers). Then a few sparkly rhinestones-these were from the Easter kit from the spring mini but rumor has it there *might* just be some new bling in the new catalog! A quick strip of patterned paper and some ribbon (cause a card isn't complete without some ribbon) and this one is done!

As I mentioned today is my daughter's dance recital. The studio has two performances today so it is a day FULL of dancing! It's a great show and I know she's going to do awesome but it is a long day and very tiring for a 4 year old. Today my Simple Sunday card is a very basic card. Seriously super simple layout and design, one stamped image and some ribbon. But I think it's because of the simplicity of this card that makes it work. I was originally going to add a sentiment to these cards but I didn't want the teachers to feel like they had to use them to send thank you cards to the kids and I didn't like any of my other sentiments (crazy right?) SO the cards got left blank. But then the card looked naked so I added a few sparkly swarovski crystals to finish off the card. The image panel is popped up on dimensionals to give it a little more interest. I made each teacher 8 cards- 2 colors each. The rose red purse included this card as well as a basic grey/rose red combo. The basic black purse included black/mambo melon and black/bermuda bay cards. The sahara
sand purse included cherry cobbler/early espresso and cherry cobbler/daffodil delight cards.
Toy Story 3 was AWESOME!!!! If you have seen any of the previous Toy Story movies this one is a do not miss! Excellent! And while I was at the theater I picked up tickets to see the new Twilight Movie!!!! I'm going to the special showing-all three Twilight movies in one fun filled night!! Can't wait!!!! (and yes I realize I am a full grown adult and not a teenager, but man do I love these books/movies)
Not quite sure what's on the agenda for Father's Day today but I'm sure it will be something fun. My DH is working this morning so we'll celebrate when he gets home this afternoon. Elizabeth made his a gorgeous card that I'll share with you tomorrow after my hubby opens it. She did everything by herself, including stamping the image. Phew what a busy day!!!! I usually do my blog posts the night before but last night I had a date night with the little lady and I didn't get a chance to post this.....then today was just a fun day hanging with the family. It was a fun day spent out in the backyard and wouldn't you know it I put a TON of sunscreen on the kids but nothing on me....so yup I got a touch of the sunburn today :/ lucky for me it usually doesn't last too long on me.
I have a SUPER simple card to share with you today using lots of brand new stuff from the soon to be released Stampin' Up! catalog. So I LOVE these colors together!!!! This is Early Espresso, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.....don't you love it!?!??!?! The sentiment is from the new level 3 hostess set Occasional Quotes-there are some fabulous sentiments in this set! I made the background paper using the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. And did you see the new taffeta ribbon?? The early espresso is SO yummy and rich!!! LOVE it!!

Whew....what a crazy week!!! I apologize I never got back to the blog but I came down with a pretty icky cold. I was SO run down and SO tired that I didn't get much of anything done this week. I'm *almost* feeling better-still a bit congested and tired but SO much better than I was!!!! Ugh, warm weather colds are so miserable.....
But you didn't come here to hear my woes and moans....you came for cuteness :) For today's Simple Sunday I have this cute little birthday card (we actually made this card in my last hostess club meeting). The longest part of this card was poking all the little holes around the teal piece...but it needed that little touch. I CASEd this card from a fellow demo on SCS just changed up the colors and stamps a bit (her version is SUPER cute with the trendy trees set). I do have to admit I am going to be awfully sad to see Taken With Teal retire this month.....just look at how nice it looks with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. *sigh* Good thing I stocked up on a few packs.

I got my new catalog pre-order the other day and all I can say is WOW the new colors are GORGEOUS!!!!! I have a few samples to share this week with them, I can only hope that the pictures do the papers justice :)

Whew...sorry this is so late!! I normally do my posts the night before but last night I was at a wedding and was SO tired when I got home that I just couldn't get on the computer. Today we spent the entire day outside enjoying the gorgeous weather that we were blessed with....so I'm just getting to this now.
This card is certainly simple but it is definitely not quick! I got the idea from a fellow demo on SCS and just had to give this one a whirl. The pink pirouette paper is embossed using the manhattan flower embossing folder. Then the entire image is filled in with a layer of crystal effects then while still wet I sprinkled some glitter over the entire card. It took a while to dry......like a LONG time but it is really pretty don't you think?? Then once dry I just adhered it to a soft suede base and wrapped a bit of soft suede polka dot ribbon around the entire card. Ta-da!!!! Simple yet SOOOOOO pretty!!!

Today I have a super simple card to share with you. It was a fun card to make but came together so quickly I *should* be embarrassed...but I love when that happens so I am just going to embrace it :) I have to admit, I have never liked the color Orchid Opulence....it sat unused, unloved in my paper rack...then SU came out with the cottage wall paper this catalog year and I paired my unloved, dare I say hated, Orchid Opulence and it was love at first sight! I have NEVER used SO much of this paper....I have ordered PACKS of it this year...I think the first since buying my original pack over 5 years ago! Well as you know, my new found cool color Orchid Opulence (which seriously looks FABULOUS when paired with Rich Razzleberry) is retiring :( I have stocked up on a few packs and will continue to love it with the still available Rich Razzleberry.....never fails that I finally decide I like something and it goes away *sigh*
Anyway, enough rambling.......this card was SO simple to make. I used my butterfly embosslit for the main focal point. I wanted to give a little detail so I drew (lightly with pencil) a little flight trail for the little butterfly and then pierced over the line (then erased it). I added a little border using the scallop border and a wrap of basic grey satin ribbon. I added a quick little thank you to complete this easy peasy card :)

Borrowing off of Kate's Five Minute Friday idea I'm going to start posting Simple Sundays. What are simple Sundays you ask?? Well they are cards that are nice and simple to put together but not necessarily within a certain time frame...they might take 5 minutes maybe even 10 but they will always be nice and easy to recreate (or mass produce).
This card is the perfect first Simple Sunday card because it was....well simple to make :) I used some paper from the SAB paper stack for the background. I stamped the little house on some old olive paper and the roof on some kraft, I mean crumb cake, and then cut them both out and adhered them between the two trees (which are printed on the paper---see I told you super simple!!!!). Then I added a quick little border using the pinking hearts border punch and tied a strip of dusty durango ribbon around the top of the card. Super simple but super cute!!!! That's my kind of card :)
