Ewe Who!

Happy Sunday!  A cute and simple little card for you.  I (might have mentioned before) am *so* ready for spring to arrive.  This little stamp just says "spring" to me so I just could not resist using it.  I just barely colored in the wool and then I covered these fuzzy little ladies in sparkly ultra fine glitter.  They shimmer and shine *love*  I added a few paper flowers to add to the "spring"iness of the card.  I colored both the flower and the rhinestone with my copics to match the card better.

I ain't lion

Quick and easy little card for you today.  This cute little lion stamp is *old*!!!  I think he is one of the first stamps I purchased way back when I started stamping.  Since March is starting this week, I thought I would bring March in like a lion myself (and maybe spare myself some nasty weather *wink*).  I wanted to make this a simple card though so rather than color in my lion I paper pieced him.  Such a fun, quick way to add some color to your image :)  A little fuzzy flocking for his mane and he is done!  Super simple, super easy, SUPER cute!

Frosty and Sweet

I'm not quite sure what I would do if there happened to be a penguin in my cupcake but he sure is cute no?  Seriously simple card today-like one of those "I should be embarrassed" easy cards.  I didn't even do any kind of embossing on the background paper.  Just a simple run of ribbon down the center and then a cute little scallop edge.  A few pearls give it a little something something but not too much.  Just a SIMPLE fun little birthday card :)  Enjoy!

*sigh* vacation is officially over. It's always so sad leaving Disney and coming home but once we're on the way home I can't wait to get back!  Luckily we have off from school tomorrow to get ourselves settled back into "life" again :)   Hopefully this week I'll be able to get back to participating in all the stamping challenges I love.  If not this week then definitely next......

Lollipop lollipop, oh lolli lollipop

Happy Sunday :)  I've got a fun little Simple Sunday card to share with you this morning.  I used this cute little lollipop for this oh so fun little card.  I used my spica glitter pens to color in the multi-colored pop and then gave it a nice coating of crystal effects for shine.  I played with the crystal effects a bit to give it a bit of a texture. At first I wasn't super sure I was going to like the end result but once it dried I was really happy with it.  The texture plus all the glitter from the pens underneath just made for the perfect little lollipop.  The sentiment banner is glued flat on one end and then popped up with a dimensional in the middle and then again glued flat to give it that "wave".  A pretty rich razzleberry button finishes it off :)

Simple Makeover

Happy New Year!!!!  I hope that you had a wonderful Holiday season and that the new year brings a renewed sense of peace, love and joy to you all!!!!  

As I'm sure occurs at your home, the holidays bring along with it so much craziness!  i have been so swamped with "life" that the blog has had to sit on the back burner for a while.  Sadly there just aren't always enough hours in the day to do everything you'd like.....But I'm back today with a super simple Simple Sunday project.  I think this took me longer to gather my supplies than to actually make.  And I am SO happy with the end result :)

I got this fabulous Mom Agenda desk planner for Christmas and while it is such a pretty color I felt it needed a little touch of personalization.  So I dug out some chocolate chip decor elements and some self adhesive rhinestones and got to work.  The decor elements were a little tricky to get to stick but once I managed to get them on there (with quite a bit of rubbing) they are stuck done really nicely.  I love the look of the chocolate on the tangerine!!!  Then I added just a few rhinestones to bling it up.  I also took a little bit of stickles and put it on with a q-tip and then quickly wiped it off.  What this did was leave just the barest hit of glitter along the edges of the flower with out over powering the flower.  Then a simple run of ribbon along the binding of the cover with a few more rhinestones where the ribbon overlaps.  Then to tie it all in I added some polka dot ribbon to the already existing white ribbon bookmark.  LOVE!

We've got one more day of "vacation" before Elizabeth heads back to school on Monday.  But happily it's only a few days then until we are off to FL for the annual Disney Marathon Weekend!  I'm walking the half with my sister and my husband is running both the half and the full marathons!  I can't wait!!!  It's looking to be a little chilly but no where near as cold as it was last year.  Chilly I can deal with *wink* and honestly anything is better than the snow covered ground were have here in NJ.  As pretty as the snow is, and I really do love it, it just makes all the drivers on the roads go crazy or something.  Just getting around town is enough to make you want to pull your hair out!!  it's crazy!!!!

The chill has finally settled on us here in NJ--perfect timing for us to start our Christmas decorating :)  Normal people would have put up the outdoor lights and decorations last week while we were having 60* weather....but for some crazy reason I enjoy doing it out in the cold (I actually prefer to put them up at night too).  You go outside and freeze your tush off and then come in and have a nice hot mug of cocoa.  Perfect :)  I'm going to try and get the lazy little lady to help me this year.....I can only imagine what the house will look like if she puts up the lights.  Gorgeous I'm sure :)

A super simple card for you today.....this card uses the Beware cutting and embossing combo (cuttlebug).  I love the super subtle effect of the embossing, it really adds just *the* perfect amount of detail to the image.  No major jazzing up to this card since it was for my nephew and at 17 he's just not into all the little doodads I put on my cards usually :)

Eat Cake!

Phew, I managed to pull a card together for the Utah DIvas Color Challenge #5.  I have to tell you...these colors were tough to use (yeah I know it's a challenge, it's not supposed to be easy.....) But it was tough to decide which of these pretty strong colors got to have top billing.  This card could look so different just  by switching up the arrangements of the colors.  I did add a teeny tiny pop of daffodil delight, not 100% sure I like it but I thought it needed *something*

Busy day today!  The little lady and I are off to a birthday party this morning and then when we get home we are off to get the little man some big boy shoes :)  He's been walking *everywhere* and hates being carried these days so it's probably time to go get some shoes that are a little sturdier than the robeez he's been wearing.  I can't wait to see him walking around DIsney World when we head down in a few weeks :)  I've got pictures of Elizabeth as a new walker down on Main Street USA so now I'll have some matching pics of her brother too!!  Yay!

Simple Sunday

Good Morning!  I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend :)  Today's Simple Sunday card uses this week's UDI Color Challenge #4.  This is such a yummy combo!  I have to admit that I'm not usually a huge fan of More Mustard but these other colors really bring out the "pretty" in it.  I think (at least for me) that it also helps that I didn't use more mustard card stock but rather the cute linen textured more mustard paper from the Autumn Spice collection...I think it might be the very slight bit of white in the paper that makes me like it more..but who knows!  I "dug" out an old SFYTT sketch for this card and I love how simple it is and how nicely it shows off all of the colors in this challenge.  I clear embossed the butterfly and layered two images using dimensionals to give the butterfly some lift.  Then I added a  little scrap of black for the antenna. So simple and yet so fun!

Materials used (all SU unless noted otherwise): great friend stamp set; pear pizzaz, riding hood red, basic black cs; more mustard dp; nestabilities (spellbinders); tuxedo black (memento); versamark; clear embossing powder; silver brads

I'm busy stamping the (sadly long overdue) thank you cards for Alex's birthday party but I've managed to take a few breaks in the stamping to make some super cute cards to share with you this week!  And I've actually managed to sneak into the basement and work on my stamp room a bit (still a LONG way to go but hey it's a start).  I've also "found" some pretty cool forgotten stuff down there and who knows...there just might be some "candy" to share with you soon!  After all what's more fun than sharing with friends :)

Simple Mojo

Good morning!! Today my simple Sunday card uses this week's Mojo Monday sketch-totally cute sketch don't you thinks?  I love the end of the month circle and square cards!  Now I will be the first to admit this card is a little "fussier" than I usually do for simple Sunday but it was fun and really didn't take too long to make.  I usually don't do any coloring for my Sunday cards but since there was so little to color-just a quick wash of some grey on his wrappings and then his face and hair, I figured this would still be ok for a simple card :)  The bat paper is retired SU Halloween paper from a few years back and the cute little bat brads??  Well I went "shopping" in my craft room down in the basement and "discovered" them-so bad I know but come on you've "found" stuff too....haven't you?!!??!  (please say yes, it will make me feel better *wink*)

We are off to a Sunday brunch with my in laws this morning.  Then after we make their bellies all full with yummy food, we are bringing them back here so they can watch the kids while my DH and I tackle the basement.  I'm going to try and unpack more of my craft stuff into my stamp room down there and he's just going to work on some of the other (million) things we have stored down there....it's amazing how much "stuff" you gather. It will be nice to be able to get down there and start moving into my room without having to worry about squeezing my time into the ever changing nap time :)  Hopefully I can get a lot done today.......fingers crossed!
