Hey Cupcake!

 Mmm, I love a good cupcake, don't you??  And every yummy cupcake deserves a fun sketch...and if this one doesn't say fun I don't know what does :)  This sweet little cupcake is "iced" in stickles making it super sparkly!  And did you see?!?!?!?!?!  Yet *another* bow.....made by me!!!!!  Are you impressed cause I *know* I am!!!!  Go me *wink*

Materials used: mix up of cuteness (unity); basic gray, old olive cs (SU); stamper's select white (PTI); melon mambo dp (SU); tuxedo black (memento); nestabilities; copics; stickles; rhinestones (SU); old olive ribbon (SU); scallop edge punch (SU); crystal effects (SU)

This card was sent out as a BRAK for a special SCSer's birthday over the weekend.  I hope she loved the card and that it brought a smile to her face :)

Top Note Birthday

 I had fun making this card!  I used some scraps I had from the Welcome neighbor paper stack and adhered them to some cardboard (actually one of the pieces that they package big shot dies with).  Then I ran the whole thing through my big shot using the top note die....and you get this cute little centerpiece for the card.  I wrapped some bermuda bay ribbon around the die and adhered a fluttering butterfly using some dimensionals. I added a row of pearls for the butterfly's body and then added a similar but bigger pearl near the sentiment.  Really just a fun card to make and I hope that it brings a smile to the face of the recipient....nothing better than getting some happy mail in your mailbox, especially on your birthday...one of the main reasons I joined the BRAK group :)

Materials used (all SU unless otherwise stated): teeny tiny greetings; old olive, bermuda bay, rose red cs; welcome neighbor dp; basic black; top note die; butterfly embosslit; word window punch; bermuda bay polka dot ribbon; pearls (basic grey)

We're off to two more birthday parties tomorrow-one for a 4 year old princess and the other for a one year old princess.....so many princesses so little time :)  It will be a little crazy running to both parties but it will be fantastic to see everyone and to celebrate with them!  Plus the littlest princess happens to be the daughter of one of my college roommates-so you know I am looking forward to catching up with her mama!!  Can't wait!!!  Hope you have some fun plans for this weekend as well.  Thanks for stopping by today, see you on Sunday for another Simple card :)

Welcome little one

The card I shared with you on Monday, my mother's day card, borrowed the sketch from this   fabulous card from my friend Pat.  I love everything about this card!!  The little chick she used is way too cute, I'm going to need to find out where she got him from :)  Pat was my secret sister on SCS a while back and I have to say she is just such a treasure, I am SO glad to be able to call her a friend.  We will most likely never really meet in person (she lives in TX) but I know that I have a friend in TX always!  Isn't it amazing the power of the internet?!!??!?!  I think that more than half of my friends I have never actually met in person.......and sadly might not ever get to....but because of this amazing thing called the internet I have such a close group of women to love and support me!  Anyway before I get all sappy on ya....I made (another) card using Pat's fabulous sketch and I'd love to share it with you.....

 One of the pharmacists that my husband works with recently welcomed a new little baby boy into his family.  I used the cute little elephant from Wild About You for my focal image.  I used some of the patterned paper for his ear and popped it up just to give it a little character.  The background paper is from the SAB paper stack.  Technically the paper is pumpkin pie but I paired it with the dusty durango ribbon since it's a *close* enough match.....plus it looks cute *wink*

I'm off to NC today, just me and the kids...think of me today as I'm taking a 8 hour drive with a four year old and an 8 month old.  We should be fine (both kids travel really well) but bathroom breaks might pose a little problem ;) Hopefully we won't have to stop at EVERY rest stop this time...last time Elizabeth was pretty new to using the bathroom and as a typical kid she *needed* to see everyone we passed....and since she was so new to not being in a diaper I was afraid to not stop just in case that time was really *the* time she had to go *wink*  I'm hoping this time will be better since that was the LONGEST trip to NC I've ever taken!!!!  

Just Because

I am in a RAK (random acts of kindness) group with the gals from one of the threads I frequent on SCS.  Each month we make a card for someone on the thread.  It's just a little bit of happy mail to brighten that person's day.  I made this card last month for my RAKee.  I was a little late in getting it out (sorry again!!!) but I hope that event though it was late it made her day a little bit happier :D

The butterfly is from Verve stamps from the adorable butterfly set, Fluttering By. I stamped the butterfly twie, once on the white square and once on a scrap piece of paper.  I cut out the butterfly and adhered him directly on top of the one stamped on the white square.  I put some dimensionals under his wings and sticky tape on his body so he looks like he is flapping his wings!!! I added a few rhinestones to the butterfly's body "just because" *wink*.  

Materials used: fluttering by (verve stamps); chocolate chip, shimmery white (SU); blue paper (ACMoore stack); pinstriped DP (sassafras lass); cool carribbean ink (SU); nestabilities; designer label, large oval, word window punches (SU); rhinestones; ribbon (american crafts)
