Yet another birthday card for you today :) I don't normally post cards *before* they get to their "person" but I'm pretty sure it's safe to post this one....don't think my niece reads my blog. (and on the rare chance that she does......Happy Birthday Darlene!!!!!!!! ) She is a HUGE fan of penguins so when I saw a fellow demo on SU Stampin' Connection board make a penguin using the owl punch I *KNEW* I had to make that for my niece's birthday. And how cute are they?!?!?!?! LOVE them!!! I swear I am amazed at the out of the box thinking that stampers are able to do.....I look at the punch and see an owl....they look at the punch and see so many more things. I'm so thankful to them for sharing!! The sketch is from Lynn's Convention Swap Challenge, the challenge ends today so if you hurry you still have time to play along!. It's it a fun one?? I love the top note die and find myself using it very often. I think this is one I'm going to wear out *wink* I textured the top note with a texture plate to give it a subtle bit of embossing. It's just enough to give it a bit of something extra without over powering the penguins.
Materials used (all SU unless noted otherwise): on your birthday, beary best birthday; crumb cake, old olive, basic black, WW, cherry cobbler, tangerine tango, daffodil delight; bashful blue dp; tuxedo black (memento); copics; spica glitter pen; pumpkin pie ribbon; owl punch; white gel pen; top note die; texture plates; crystal effects
We had Elizabeth's preschool meet and greet last night! It's so sad (and shocking) to think that this is her last year of preschool...next September brings the entrance to Kindergarten!!! Yikes!!! She had fun seeing all of her school friends that she hasn't gotten to see over the summer and she was happy to meet her new teacher :) She still has a month to go until school starts though but I have a feeling it will be here before we know it! Wow, time really does fly by!!!
I'm looking forward to this weekend. My DH has a (very) rare Saturday off tomorrow so we are going to spend the day as a family! Looking forward to what ever we do.....even if it's absolutely nothing :) I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!!! Thanks so much for stopping by today :)
I just LOVEEEE This idea!!!

They are adorable! It amazes me to see all of the things you can make out of the punches with just a little imagination.
