Having a little fun today with a sketch challenge :) This sketch is from Jen Del Muro's SFYYT challenge....she has some of the best sketches!! They are always fun!!! Well this one was no exception and goes perfectly with my cute little rocker from Sugar Nellie :) I got the colors from this week's color throwdown 102-marina mist, wild wasabi and not quite navy. Pretty right??? I do have to admit that the first card I made for this challenge I accidentally used baja breeze in place of the marina mist-which I have to say is also a gorgeous combo- but that card will have to wait for another day :) The "u" is cut out of chipboard with cardstock adhered to it and then spritzed with some vanilla smootch spritz to make is all shimmery and oh so pretty!!! Can you see the shimmer in the close up??? LOVE it!!!! And I *know* I have a stamp that says "rock" on it somewhere....but alas I could not find it :( SO I hand wrote the word using a spica glitter pen so it's all sparkly too!! I mean really no rockstar is complete without some bling right??
Materials used: rocker (sugar nellie); not quite navy, wild wasabi, marina mist cs (SU); stamper's select white (PTI); tuxedo black ink (memento); copics; spica glitter pen; nestabilities; cb embossing folder; crystal effects; brads
Well I didn't make it back to the balloon festival yesterday. It started to look pretty nasty out and then the rain began to fall in BUCKETS....probably not the best idea for an outdoor event huh? So I stayed home and will just have to rely on the few pics I got using my iPhone and I'll have to listen to Jesse's Girl on my iTunes *wink* And yay for me, I wasn't called for jury duty today....but I'm still "on call" for the rest of the week :-/ Don't think I'll get lucky all week but fingers crossed for not too many days!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!! I hope you have a happy Monday :) See you on Wednesday!
super cute card, Mer!!
We went to the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque a few years back and it was SO cool. The kids beg every year to go back. I love all the shapes.
