June 25- hair fashion

Like the little lady's new hairstyle??  She had 30 clips in her hair today, all in neat little sections through her hair. She certainly is a trendsetter!  Who knows maybe we'll be seeing all the runway models sporting this look come fashion week ;)

June 24- Storms a-coming!!!

They've been calling for potential severe thunderstorms all day.  It's been super overcast and just generally icky out.  The thunder started rumbling in the distance, the winds started picking up and the sky-well it just got DARK!  I snuck out to take some pics of the clouds (as dark as they were they were amazing to look at!!!) and managed to snag a few before the buckets of rain began to fall.  Phew, and what a storm it was!!!!  We lost power for a bit, the road flooded, the winds whipped around the house and the lightening was amazing!!!!  It was a great storm to watch from *inside* the house, SO thankful I wasn't out and about it that one!!!!  

June 23- Ready to Shop!

We needed to stop into Target this morning so I asked the little lady to please get dressed.  This is how she came downstairs.  Light up glasses, Rapunzel princess gown, and daughters in tow.  She looked so darn cute how could I not let her go like this??  We turned a few heads but she proudly strolled through the store ;)  Gotta love 5 year olds!

June 22- my sleepy girls

We had friends over this morning.  The kids had.a.blast!!!  But they are both exhausted from playing just a little *too* hard! Alex was asleep within minutes of them leaving.  The little lady, well she fought it a bit.  It took about 15 minutes but I knew once she sat down next to me that was it......she put that head down and within minutes my jeans were being drooled on ;)  She slept until almost 7 pm she was so exhausted.  Must have been one pretty awesome play date this morning!

June 21- Shhhhh

I hate having to wake a sleeping baby, especially when they look as cute as this :)  But alas, I guess such is the life of the second child.......gotta live according to your big sister's schedule.  

June 20- crafty

Elizabeth has been helping me make end of the year gifts for her teachers.  She has been doing so well with her writing (we're still working on the spacing ;)).  We made a clipboard for her gymnastics teacher and Elizabeth wrote her a note that we mod podged to the back.  Didn't she do a great job??  

June 19- Happy Father's Day

Today we celebrated Father's Day with a rare day off for Chris ;)  We lounged in the morning and then after naps we headed up to Elizabeth for some hot dogs at Chris' request.  After dinner we took a trip down memory lane for Chris and went off in search of DiCosmo's Italian Ice.  MMMMM yummy!!!  We each tried a different flavor-lemon (traditional) for Chris, orange for the kids, and pineapple for me.  man oh man was it yummy!! 

June 18- Recital Day!!!!

After a year of dancing, prepping and practicing for it, the day is finally here!  Recital day is a fantastically fun day but it is also an absolutely exhausting day!  We have 2 shows today and Elizabeth is in 2 dances in each.  Makeup, costume changes, on stage performances, backstage entertainment......repeat!  Elizabeth did *such* a great job today!!!  We are SO proud of her!!!!  She is the youngest (and of course smallest) in both her classes but aside from a few right/left mix ups she happily and skillfully danced right along with her classmates!!!  She was truly my little dancing queen today!!!  

June 17- Just hanging

Lazy day at home today to recoup from the craziness of the week and in preparation for the craziness of the weekend ahead.  We lounged on the couch, watched movies, ate some (delicious) fruit and just got in some relaxation.  Somedays the lazy day is *so* needed and today was definitely the day!

June 16- Graduation Day!

Today's the day!!  Preschool Graduation!  I cried through the entire ceremony (like the big sap I am) though luckily I managed to just shed tears rather than the sobs that I was afraid might happen ;)  She did such a great job!!  She sang her songs for us and gave Miss Sharon a big ol' hug when she got her diploma.  I'm so proud of my big girl!!!  Kindergarten here we come!!!!!
