Just a Little Slice

Jan 21- Stamping time!

Tonight my hostess club comes over for a fun night of stamping. We get together once a month and with my gals it's always a good time.  And as usual I spent the afternoon cutting paper and getting ready :)  At least this month I was a *little* ahead of schedule, I actually planned what projects we were making yesterday.....for me that's HUGE.  Usually I plan them while I'm in the shower or eating breakfast on the morning of :)

Jan 20- Brave

Went to Elizabeth's 5 year check up today.  She's hanging on to the 10% for height at just 40 1/4 inches and 25% for weight at 35 lbs.  Great visit, everything looks perfect and then the dreaded time comes for shots :(  She knew they were coming, we talked about it, planned for it, prepared as best we could for them.....but the tears still came.   She hid and tried her hardest to push the nurse away but she was a tricky nurse and during all those tears managed to sneak those 2 tiny little shots in without the little lady even noticing :)  This is her attempt at a brave face.  Isn't it just the most pathetic thing you've ever seen....my poor little big girl.  Then it was off to The Disney Store for a special treat (hey I never said I was above bribery *wink*)

Jan 19- Wow!!!

Last night I spent the night going through recipes and making a grocery list.....and a miracle happened....I cooked tonight.  But even more miraculous than me cooking???  Elizabeth ATE!  This kid never eats and I can't remember the last time she actually cleaned her plate.....WOW!  Thanks to the fabulous Pioneer Woman for the awesome recipe.....this is a definite remake!

Jan 18- Comfort food

Today was one of those rainy/sleety cold days where you are happy to not have to leave the house.  The skies were dreary and the house was chilly and damp.  Can't think of a better day for some nice warm from the oven beer bread.  Mmmm, the only thing that would have made this more perfect would have been a nice hot bowl of chili to enjoy with it.....but *that* would have required leaving the house and today that's just not happening :)

Jan 17-Fit for a Princess

Life is just about back to normal today.....Alex was back into getting into EVERYTHING and Elizabeth spent her day bouncing back and forth between her princess outfits and playing with her dolls :)  Today was mostly a "Rapunzel day" although it did begin as an "Ariel day" (notice she's still wearing Ariel's crown) but "Mom, the mermaid fins are just *too* cold!!!" Ahhh spoken like a true Princess <3

Jan 16-my poor little man

I came home from FL sick and sadly I seem to have shared my germs with poor little Alex.  My normally SUPER active little boy has just fallen asleep everywhere he's gone today.....a nap on my chest, a nap leaning against the couch, a nap on the couch with me and then a nap on his little firetruck couch.  Poor little guy :(   

Jan 15-Home

18 hours of driving overnight and absolutely exhausted.  Car's unloaded....now it's time to go to sleep....so what if it's only 2 in the afternoon :)  Ahhhh so good to be home :)

Jan 14-so long, farewell....

*sigh* vacation is officially over :(  we start the long trek back to NJ tonight after spending a gorgeous afternoon here at Epcot. It snowed while we were away so who knows what the driveway will look like when we get home but hopefully it's driveable.  As always, thanks for an awesome vacation Mickey!!!!!  See you soon my friend!!!

Jan 13- The Little Lady turns 5!!!!

Five short years ago this little lady entered the world and our lives were forever changed.  She has brought such joy, such love, such craziness (and yes of course such frustration) to our lives......and we wouldn't have it any other way!!!  She has spent every birthday so far here at Disney World and except for last year when it was being refurbished, she had spent every birthday breakfast here at The Crystal Palace with Pooh and the Gang.  And each and every year......she's only eaten the icing on the cupcake :)

Jan 12-Yum!

A good friend has been teasing telling Chris about the avocado margaritas in Mexico for quite some time now.....and we have never been able to "find" them.  Well today we searched them out and Chris finally got to enjoy it. He declared it the yummiest drink he's ever had....."it's like a tequila milkshake" were his exact words *wink*  I foresee many more trips to the Tequila Bar in Mexico when we venture to Epcot
