Hello (again)

Wow!  look at me, two posts in a row.....(enjoy it folks cause it doesn't happen often)  This (so not typical Merry style) card is for the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge #176.  This card so could have been included in my Simple Sunday category (well if I had done the challenge on time.....).  I knew I wanted to use some pretty bold flowers when I saw the sketch I just wasn't sure which set I wanted to use.  Then while looking through my stash I stumbled across this set and decided to go for it.  I've had the set for a while now but each time I go to use it I don't actually end up using it.  Not sure why but I just haven't been able to make it work for me.  I love the set and have seen SO many fabulous cards made with it (that's why I own it) but it's never been kind to me.....until this one.  Even though this is not my typical style I love the end result of this card!  The color scheme is this week's Curtain Call colors Act 55-again not normally colors I would put together (don't think I've EVER put chocolate chip and black together before) but it works......well.  Who knows, I might even try another card with this color combo :)

Happy Botday

Hello and welcome to a rare Tuesday morning post!  I have so many cards to share with you for various challenges I had to up my posting this week to play along with everything :)  I have SO much fun doing both color and sketch challenges (as I'm sure you know by now)...they are such a great inspiration point for a card.  And of course you know how much I love when I can manage to squeeze two challenges into one...just like I did for this card.  The sketch comes from this week's Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge #119.  I love making square cards!  They are SO fun!  The colors for this card are this week's Curtain Call Act 51 colors.  What a pretty combo and I love that it can be used for either feminine or masculine cards.  

I used the totally cute Best Bots Forever stamp set for this little cutie.  This set is SO cute, I love the mixey matchiness of these stamps.  Pick a head, body and feet and you get an adorable little robot *every* time!  This card is pretty simple with just a few little cutsie touches to pull it all together.

Fall is in the air

Today's card could easily be a Simple Sunday card :)  Sometimes it's nice just to do simple-even if it doesn't happen too often.  I used the sketch from this week's sketch challenge #171 over at Stamping 411 and for fun I also used Stacey's Curtain Call Act 50 colors.  I LOVE when I can combine two challenges into one!  I did alter the sketch ever so slightly by placing my center image panel over the ribbon and moving the brads to the side rather than the top of the card.  I needed a little extra room since I opted to add a sentiment on the card.  The background paper is from the new designer series paper collection Autumn Spice.  The texture on this paper is so yummy-it's a really heavyweight almost linen like feel.....LOVE it!

The sun is *finally* peeking it's way out here today...we've had a pretty steady run of rain and icky weather...and it got cold!  Not super duper need to wear a coat cold but cold enough that we've had to turn the heat on to rid the house of the chill.  Hopefully we can take advantage of the sun today and get outside for a bit...the little lady is getting awfully hyper being trapped in the house. She's been bouncing off the furniture (literally) *sigh*
